Crestwood is proud to be an early leader in bringing Spirituality into the field of mental health. For more than 20 years Crestwood has included Spirituality as one of our four Pillars of Recovery and we define it as, \u201cThe connection to a greater power, others, and self. It is the way to find meaning, hope, comfort and inner peace in life.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\t \n\t

In 2006, we joined the statewide Spirituality & Mental Health Core Workgroup to help create the California Mental Health & Spirituality Initiative<\/a>. The Initiative was launched in 2008 with the mission of finding effective, collaborative means to lead the public mental health system in California and to inquire about, embrace, and support the spiritual lives of the people it serves or desires to serve.<\/p>\n\t \n\t

In 2024, Crestwood made Spirituality one of our Foundational Tools and a Core Program Element. We developed Policies and Procedures, and a bibliography for a variety of spirituality resources and opportunities, including ongoing webinars supporting the benefits of Spirituality in enhancing a person\u2019s recovery and well-being. This unique approach to recovery and healing has empowered both Crestwood employees as well as the people we serve. At Crestwood, we believe that everyone has the right to love themselves, experience recovery, create wellness in their lives, and live out their greatest potential!<\/p>\n\t \n\t \n\t \n\t REAL Team<\/span><\/strong>\n\t


Our Recovery, Education, Advocacy and Leadership (REAL) Team launched a Spirituality Power Hour Zoom<\/strong> in 2024 for staff and the people we serve. Our staff and persons served can join the REAL Team on the third Tuesday of each month for our Spirituality Power Hour from 10 am -11am, Zoom link: https:\/\/cbhi.zoom.us\/j\/96038125508<\/a>. If you are unable to attend and would like the recording, please send your request to REAL@cbhi.net<\/a> and we will send you a link.<\/p> \n\t \n\t

The REAL Team also provides our campuses with grief support<\/strong> whenever the need arises. The team supports the grieving process in a variety of ways such as providing compassionate support, sacred listening, and group support in the way of rituals around remembering the person\/s who have passed on.<\/p>\n\t \n\t\t
